Dr. Dodd is a physician known not just for his clinical excellence, but for the enduring relationships he builds with those under his care. With over 20 years of experience in internal medicine—including caring for some of the world’s most complex patients—he brings uncommon insight, calm, and focus to every clinical encounter.
Before founding KOSMOS, a members-only advanced primary care practice, Dr. Dodd led national medical organizations as Chief Medical Officer, where he led the design and development of innovative models of care. His career has taken him from major academic centers to the homes of patients across the U.S. and abroad—but he’s returned to the most personal form of medicine: one patient, one relationship at a time.
Dr. Dodd's approach to care is proactive, preventative, and deeply personalized—built on the belief that time, presence, and attentiveness are the most powerful diagnostic tools a physician has. He is his patients’ first call—not just in moments of illness, but as a partner in optimizing their health and longevity.
He earned his M.D. from Boston University, trained in internal medicine and global health equity at the University of Miami’s Jay Weiss Center, and completed the Program in Clinical Effectiveness at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. A graduate of Vanderbilt and a native of Richmond Beach, Washington, Dr. Dodd now welcomes a limited number of members to his Seattle-based practice.

Dr. James Bhaskar brings over three decades of clinical experience to his role at KOSMOS, including 18 years in Emergency Medicine and a longstanding commitment to Family Medicine. Known for his steady presence, clinical precision, and deep compassion, he has earned the trust of patients across a wide range of care settings.
Recognized as a Seattle Top Doctor and honored by both Seattle Met and Best of Western Washington, Dr. Bhaskar is celebrated for his relationship-driven approach to care. His patients consistently speak to his unwavering attentiveness, calm confidence, and the rare assurance of having a physician who is truly accessible—whenever the need arises.
Medicine runs deep in Dr. Bhaskar's family—he is the proud son of a physician and part of a multigenerational tradition of care that includes siblings and cousins. For him, the practice of medicine is not just a profession, but a lifelong calling—rooted in legacy and shaped by a deep commitment to the people he serves.
Dr. Bhaskar earned his undergraduate degree in Biology from Texas Christian University and completed his medical education at the American University of the Caribbean, where he cultivated a global perspective on health and healing. He went on to complete his Family Medicine residency at Beaumont Health in Detroit, a program known for its rigorous clinical training and emphasis on whole-person care.
He now welcomes a limited number of members to his practice at KOSMOS, where he partners with each patient to deliver proactive, personalized care that supports long-term health and vitality.

All services done within our office are covered by a membership fee. We do not bill insurance or Medicare, although you will, of course, need insurance for medical care received outside our office, such as specialist visits and hospitalizations.

Our mission is to support your ability to impart the wisdom from a life well-lived to your family by working together with you to ”ensure your last decades are your best decades.”
We do this through prompt diagnosis and treatment of any acute conditions, focused care for your chronic conditions to prevent the common complications that prematurely shorten life, and a unique focus on strength and mobility.
